App for Gmail - Email Menu Tab App Reviews

15 Customer Reviews:

Although it works ok, it still needs some help. First, it does not allow me to copy from or paste from an email or into an email. Something most people in business have to do often. Second, for some reason it seems to lag in receiving mail. My mail hits my mobile devices so much quicker than this desktop app. Third, it doesn’t appear to open on the first click when clicking the button in the menu bar icon in the top right of the screen. Finally, there should be an option to open links outside of the app in a browser of one’s specified choice so we can bookmark in our browser of choice. Still lots of fixes needed to make this a good app. UPDATE: This app is even worse then I thought. It won’t properly open attachments or allow me to download them. Common Fresh Squeezed, fix this app so that it at the very least can handle the basic necessities.

There’s an icon on my menubar that I can quickly view my emails by clicking on, and for free! What more can I ask for. Works great! Only one suggestion below, but it definitely doesn’t make or break the experience. One thing that I feel should be integrated is an indicator of how many uncread emails you have. Similar to the chrome plugin that will count up to 20 unread emails.

It’s awesome for simply quickly viewing mails. Trying to compose an email was nearly impossible as the cursor disappeared every few seconds or key strokes. That’s a deal breaker right there. But if all you want to do is view incoming mail, quickly see things then this is great for that. I will look for something else because it was beyond irritating to try to write a brief note to family, having to back track, reset the cursor and pick up in mid-word.

Since the switch to Maverick, my 3 year old MacBook Pro nearly siezes up when I use Apple’s Mail. I’ve been with customer support for hours trying to work through this issue, but nothing seems to work. This app solves ALL of my problems. It is 100 times faster than MAIL and I have two GMAIL accounts that work beautifully between the two. Never slows anything down on my laptop and I can get work done without worrying about my email and Maverick acting like Microsoft VISTA ! Thanks for a great product. I’d give it 5 if I had a little better composing experience, but I would never deduct more than a 1/2 star for that. Really Awesome App

It’s pretty okay.

It’s great for viewing emails but it’s terrible for writing emails. No copying or pasting to/from the browser either.

It is great for viewing emails and responding to emails. Opening attachments is not very good at all. I could copy and paste text but cannot drag and drop files or copy/paste files into an email. It is not a true desktop app.

The interface was not bad for quick easy access to email, but the ads were really obnoxious. After giving this ap my email address and password I checked my gmail account a few hours later. Coincidence or not, but my email had been hacked. Gmail showed that a type of device that I don’t own had been used to login to my account. Coincidence?

I purchased this app after reading the positive reviews. The basic version is free, but the extended version, which I paid for is $1.99. It finally responded, but I havent used it for very long. I am hoping this will replace Apples mail app that stopped working after some software update.

This may work the way it is intended but I hoped for some kind of notice when there was mail. There is a place to turn on notifications, which I did, but no beep when mail comes in. I stopped using MailTab for Gmail because it stopped turning red when I had mail. This works only if you check it, which is what I wanted not to do, and if you want to send a quick reply without any copying, pasting, etc. Like MailTab, you cannot move your cursor to anything else of this disappears.

I loaded this ap hoping that it would notify me and/or allow me to quickly access gmail because I can’t figure out how to get a GMail icon on my iMac desktop. It worked once but then stopped worked; the error message says that it is not possible to open the application. Maybe I’m missing something because it seems to be working for some people but I can’t recommend it. Plan to delete it today.

…except that twenty years ago, Juno would let you attach files and insert images. This app won’t. It’s almost embarassingly feature-free. Stick with using your browser.

I installed this on Yosemite (10.10.2). It shows up and I can open by clicking on it. I’ve sent myself several mails and it hasn’t alerted once. I checked the settings and configured it to beep and check every minute.. but it’s not doing it. It just sits there gray. The whole purpose for me is to get timely notification of new emails while I’m working on other things. For all it does, tabbing back to an open browser windows of a gmail session is faster. I did the in-app purchase to unlock everything, but there’s no change. In terms of being the fast gmail app… no way. This is a 2012 i7 MBP w/ max ram & ssd and a big pipe internet connection and it crawls even just refreshing the inbox. Maybe needs patching.. but as it is at this moment 4-17-2015, I’d say AVOID this app.

While this app does everything I want it to do, namely have the label feature of Gmail in browser, it doesn’t notify me when I get new mail. Even wtih the beep turned on I have to manually check the application to see if I have new mail. What good is this app if it doesn’t notify me?

I purchase this app what a p@?? of "@@?. Don’t purchase this app it has no support. It keeps asking me to upgrade my Safari but it’s up to date. I cannot load any attachments nor print. I have to login into Safari and open gmail from there avoiding what it’s use is for.
